I was born and raised in Chippenham, Wiltshire but have spent the last twenty years in the North of England, studying and working at Manchester Metropolitan University Cheshire and Sheffield Hallam University, collecting an undergraduate Sport and Exercise Science degree, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Further and Higher Education) and an MSc by Research along the way.
Previously the Course Leader for Sport and Exercise Science at Sheffield Hallam University (SHU), I have previously undertaken professional roles with England Lacrosse, Sheffield Eagles Rugby League Club and England Rugby League, as well as providing sport science support to a number of athletes and teams from a wide variety of sports.
Now a Principal Lecturer and Learning Teaching and Assessment Lead for the Academy of Sport and Physical Activity at SHU, my first passion has and always will be sport, especially the results of Bath Rugby, Swindon Town FC and Liverpool FC, and am lucky enough to eat, sleep and breathe something that I enjoy doing in my spare time as well as in my day job.
Whether it’s the most recent results, controversies that rock the world of sport or simply the latest news, you’ll find my views and opinions about them here. If you are a student of mine, you’ll already know that I have an opinion or view on most things, but these views are mine and not those of my employer!
